Some of Scotland and the UK’s leading minds on the issue of identity assurance have been brought together to support the delivery of the Online Identity Assurance (OIA) project.<\/p>\n

The inaugural meeting of the OIA Expert Group<\/strong> on Thursday 29 March was one of two key gatherings that took place last week, as the end of the first phase of our work, which has been focussed on exploring in detail the challenge facing us, approaches.<\/p>\n

The Expert Group has been developed to inform the design, direction and prioritisation of the online identity assurance programme. With expertise spanning academic, technical, legal, privacy, public sector and other specialisms, the group will assess the content and direction of the work being taken forward.<\/p>\n

The Group will meet again in the summer and a minute of the first meeting will be published shortly.<\/p>\n

The Expert Group meeting followed a \u2018Show and Tell\u2019<\/strong> the day before in Victoria Quay, where members of the project team discussed the preliminary findings and insights gained through our research so far. Valerie Carr, Project Director of We Are Snook, offered a detailed overview on the approaches that have been taken to explore the needs and attitudes of people who use services. The Show and Tell provided a platform for a lively two hours of discussion, with more than 50 stakeholders in attendance. The team is now hard at work finalising dates for another round of meetings in coming months of our OIA Programme Board, Stakeholder Group and Expert Group, as well as finalising preparations for formally concluding the first phase of our programme.<\/p>\n
