{"id":2269,"date":"2018-08-22T10:24:04","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T10:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/digital\/?p=2269"},"modified":"2022-01-26T11:50:46","modified_gmt":"2022-01-26T11:50:46","slug":"online-identity-assurance-working-with-oix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/digital\/2018\/08\/22\/online-identity-assurance-working-with-oix\/","title":{"rendered":"Online Identity Assurance &#8211; Working with OIX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/digital\/2018\/07\/27\/online-identity-assurance-pre-alpha\/\">last blog post<\/a>, we outlined what we want to achieve in the next phase of our Online Identity Assurance project, the Alpha.<\/p>\n<p>We have looked at best practice worldwide, especially the way that the UK Government Digital Service (GDS) have collaborated with the private sector to tackle common issues around digital identity verification and authentication. Over the last five years they have collaborated on a large number of projects with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oixuk.org\">Open Identity Exchange<\/a> \u2013 known widely as OIX \u2013 to advance understanding of, and develop solutions for particular problems around identity.<\/p>\n<p>As a worldwide, non-profit, cross-sector membership organization that provides industry leadership for online identity assurance, OIX are a natural fit with the aims of what we are seeking to do in Scotland.
