The Digital Directorate’s, Digital Participation team are seeking engagement from the public, organisations and businesses on an open digital dialogue<\/a> to gather opinions on the collection and use of information online.<\/p>\n

This work is being done as part of discussions on what it means to be an Ethical Digital Nation. We want to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the social, cultural and economic benefits of the internet.<\/p>\n

The digital society in which we live is full of opportunities, and challenges. Rapid and disruptive technologies (public and private) are integrated more and more into our daily life.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Government acknowledges that for its citizens, organisations and businesses to fully participate in and maximize the benefits of digital technologies it needs to improve trust in the way that software is created and privacy and data are protected.<\/p>\n

The aim of this open dialogue is to inform the work of the National Digital Ethics Expert Group<\/a> which has been established to gather evidence and develop the underlying principles and frameworks of how we can develop as an Ethical Digital Nation. The group draw expertise from technologists, social sciences, creative and media, philosophy and the law.<\/p>\n

Contributors can choose their user name and make their submissions anonymous if they wish.<\/p>\n
