We have also, to date, had over 1,000 people take part in user research, helping us shape a service that works for a wide range of needs. For example, we\u2019ve introduced an alternative identity verification method, using security questions, for users without photographic ID. We\u2019re also exploring vouching-based approaches to support even more inclusive access.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Since <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/digital\/2023\/06\/23\/scotaccount-pilot-with-disclosure-scotland\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">launching with Disclosure Scotland in February 2023<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, ScotAccount now supports the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.disclosure.gov.scot\/news\/2025\/05\/new-digital-products\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">full online disclosure journey<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u2013 from application to results \u2013 eliminating paperwork and speeding up processing. This supports over 450,000 online applications per year, and we\u2019re continuing to scale by partnering with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/scotaccount\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">more public services.<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Looking ahead, we are supporting major programmes like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digihealthcare.scot\/our-work\/digital-front-door\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">the health and social care \u2018Digital Front Door\u2019<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> as steps continue to be taken to transform Scotland\u2019s public services.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ScotAccount is an important component in these efforts, reducing the need for those services to develop, maintain or pay for multiple sign ins or online identity verification checks that would otherwise be necessary. This demonstrates the reusability of Scottish Government common components and the contribution they are making to enhance digital public services ultimately saving time, money, and effort for users and public services.\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Over the last year, we\u2019ve also been growing our team ensuring we have the skills in-house to run, maintain and develop ScotAccount, meaning we have less reliance on external delivery partners. To support this shift, ScotAccount has been transitioning away from the use of third-party software engineering suppliers.
