We have lots going on\u00a0however much of what goes on doesn\u2019t reach you, our audience.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0European Structural and Investment Funds blog will become the main source of information where you will find news of events\u00a0or announcements taking place. You will also find regular updates and any other relative items in relation to European Funding.<\/p>\n<h2>So what have you missed this year?<\/h2>\n<p>We started the new year with a new change as David Anderson took up post as Head of the Division. David joined the Structural Funds team less than a year ago to head up Operations. He comes from a background in major transport policy and project delivery. Lessons learned from those programmes\u00a0will be applied\u00a0to the new programmes. He will\u00a0continue to\u00a0engage directly with Lead Partners and stakeholders throughout the duration of the 2014-2020 programmes.<\/p>\n<p>The First Minister announced \u00a329 million of funding. This includes \u00a312 million from the European Social Fund for community and third sector projects to tackle poverty and deprivation\u00a0to make\u00a0a positive impact on people\u2019s lives and the community.
