Sharing views to tackle hate crime
Our public consultation on hate crime legislation is closing this week (Sunday 24 February).
We’re looking for your views on a number of issues including how best to tackle gender based prejudice and misogyny.
Over the past few months, we’ve also been running a series of roadshows across the country and we’d like to thank everyone who came along and took part.
From Shetland to Lockerbie, these events gave people and communities the chance to share their views and inform what is included in the new hate crime legislation.
We all want a fairer, inclusive Scotland where we celebrate our diversity. In our society, it is unacceptable that anyone should feel victimised because of prejudice and hate.
If you haven’t done so already, please take part in the consultation, you only need to answer the questions that are relevant to you. We will use your views and experience to modernise legislation which will help us to build a stronger, more connected Scotland. You can access Easy Read and BSL versions of the consultation document on the consultation website.
