The report provides a summary of the methods and findings of the REvaluation, carried out across the current cohort of clients and family nurses over the past two years. It was commissioned as part of the planned evaluation strategy designed on the back of the Evaluability Assessment carried out in 2016. The report is the result of a collaboration between the REvaluation team, Scottish Government and Family Nurses\/Supervisors, and clients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Findings<\/strong><br \/>\nThe report highlights that family nurses, the families they work with, wider family members and professionals and service providers see value in the work of FNP in a range of domains, including:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 the supportive nature of the Family-Nurse and client relationship.<br \/>\n\u2022 a holistic approach to breaking inter-generational cycles of poor care-giving, reducing the risk of abuse and bringing intra-generational equity to this segment of the population.<br \/>\n\u2022 supporting maternal outcomes including mental health, confidence and self-efficacy and education and employment.<br \/>\n\u2022 supporting children\u2019s development and positive parenting approaches.<br \/>\n\u2022 improving inter-agency working and reducing the workloads of other services.<\/p>\n<p>Family Nurses and FNP clients see positive outcomes derived from the specially-designed structure of FNP.
