Charlotte shares, in her own words, her experience of the Family Nurse Partnership. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hello, My name\u2019s Charlotte Liddell &amp; I&#8217;m a FNP graduate.<br \/>\nAgreeing to take part in the FNP\u00a0was one of the best decisions I made, I thought It would be another person there to judge my every move and point out everything I\u2019m doing wrong with my child, but\u00a0how wrong was I? So she\u00a0was discrete when calling the house and was able to meet me in a public\u00a0place to help\u00a0me figure out\u00a0how I was going to tell him. Having the family nurse to speak to about anything was a massive stress reliever, yes anything&#8230; Money, college, houses, friends. The family nurse focuses on you as a person with great potential not a teenage mother that doesn&#8217;t know what to do. They focus on everything you&#8217;re doing well and never tell you that you&#8217;re doing something wrong. Instead of\u00a0judging me\u00a0because my child wasn&#8217;t in bed early or in a routine, she helped me make a plan of action &amp; gave me\u00a0tips on how to make things better&#8230;\u00a0but\u00a0see If\u00a0I failed miserably at that plan, she\u00a0would encourage me to keep trying. Society has such a bad view on teenage parents and leaving my house was always emotionally difficult. Knowing my family nurse was just a text or call away\u00a0helped me cope with these situations. I doubted my parenting skills all the time but she was right behind me telling me I\u2019m doing amazing, she believed in me, no-one had done that before.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The family nurse focuses on you as a person with great potential not a teenage mother that doesn&#8217;t know what to do.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I was soon an extremely\u00a0confident mum and person. A few years down the line and I&#8217;m now the First Minister Mentee, YOYP ambassador and work full time.
