You can read the First Minister\u2019s statement in full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-update-first-ministers-statement-1-june-2021\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From 00:01 on Saturday 5 June the following changes will take place:<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow will move to Level 2.<\/p>\n<p>A group of 13 mainland authorities will remain in Level 2, these are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire<\/li>\n<li>East, North, and South Ayrshire<\/li>\n<li>North and South Lanarkshire<\/li>\n<li>Edinburgh and Midlothian<\/li>\n<li>Stirling and Clackmannanshire<\/li>\n<li>Dundee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A group of 15 mainland authorities should move to Level 1, these are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highland; Argyll and\u00a0Bute<\/li>\n<li>Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, and\u00a0Moray<\/li>\n<li>Angus; Perth and\u00a0Kinross<\/li>\n<li>Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire<\/li>\n<li>Falkirk<\/li>\n<li>Fife<\/li>\n<li>West Lothian and East Lothian<\/li>\n<li>The Scottish Borders<\/li>\n<li>Dumfries &amp; Galloway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The islands currently in Level 1 will move to Level 0.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In line with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels\/\">protection levels table<\/a>, this means that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For the islands in Level 0,\u00a0<strong>up to <\/strong>200 people, with physical distancing, will be able to attend funeral services, post-funeral gatherings and funeral-related commemorative events.<\/li>\n<li>For areas in Level 1, up to 100 people will be able to attend these events, and<\/li>\n<li>for those areas in Level 2 the maximum attendance remains at 50 people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are grateful to the funeral sector for playing an important part in implementing these changes and in communicating these key messages to families you work with.<\/p>\n<p>For the Scottish Government\u2019s guidance on safely organising and attending a funeral in Scotland, please refer to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-funeral-services\/pages\/funeral-service\/\">guidance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today (1 June) the First Minister announced forthcoming changes to the protection levels for some areas of Scotland.
