{"id":613,"date":"2021-12-15T12:12:44","date_gmt":"2021-12-15T12:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/?p=613"},"modified":"2021-12-15T12:12:44","modified_gmt":"2021-12-15T12:12:44","slug":"covid-19-update-on-staying-safe-measures-and-regulatory-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/2021\/12\/15\/covid-19-update-on-staying-safe-measures-and-regulatory-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: Update on staying safe measures and regulatory changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Omicron continues to spread, the Scottish Government is setting out new guidance and measures to take effect from Friday to stem the flow of transmission, keep businesses and services open, and protect against pressure on health services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The First Minister\u2019s statement of 14 December is available to read in full\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-update-first-ministers-statement-14-december-2021\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While funerals can still go ahead as planned, we encourage the funeral sector and those organising a funeral, to review and take into account all of the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Businesses, service providers and places of worship will be asked to take all reasonable measures to avoid crowding, encourage wearing of masks and support distancing in their premises.<\/li>\n<li>This will include guidance to ensure that people who can work from home, do so &#8211; for those in sectors where working from home is not possible, regular testing with lateral flow tests should be undertaken<\/li>\n<li>Reinforcement of protective measures in retail and other settings including distancing, managing customer flows, and protective screens<\/li>\n<li>Guidance to increase mask wearing in outdoor crowded areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Scottish Government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-staying-safe-and-protecting-others\/\">Staying Safe guidance<\/a> has been updated to reflect the changes set out by the First Minister \u2013 future blogs will alert the funeral sector to further changes to guidance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Omicron continues to spread, the Scottish Government is setting out new guidance and measures to take effect from Friday to stem the flow of transmission, keep businesses and services open, and protect against pressure on health services. &nbsp; The First Minister\u2019s statement of 14 December is available to read in full\u00a0here. &nbsp; While funerals&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":581,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,16],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-613","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-covid-19","category-guidance"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
