{"id":639,"date":"2022-01-21T14:59:07","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T14:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/?p=639"},"modified":"2022-01-21T14:59:07","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T14:59:07","slug":"covid-19-guidance-updates-and-protective-measures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/2022\/01\/21\/covid-19-guidance-updates-and-protective-measures\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid-19: Guidance updates and protective measures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 20 January 2022, the First Minister <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-update-first-ministers-statement-18-january-2022\/\">announced<\/a><\/u> the relaxation of a number of covid protective measures from the 24th January 2022. \u00a0The Scottish Government guidance for<em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-general-guidance-for-safer-workplaces\/\">Safer Businesses and Workplaces<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-public-use-of-face-coverings\/pages\/face-covering-exemptions\/\">Face coverings<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-staying-safe-and-protecting-others\/\">Staying Safe guidance<\/a> \u00a0have now been updated to reflect these changes.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to remember that some Covid-19 protective measures do remain in place for the funeral sector, as set out in the guidance linked above, and that businesses have a duty to manage workplace risks under existing health and safety legislation, in addition to the specific requirements set out in the Coronavirus Regulations.\u00a0 Businesses must continue to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>have regard to guidance about measures to minimise risk of exposure\u00a0 to coronavirus; and<\/li>\n<li>take such of these measures as are reasonably practicable to minimise the incidence and spread of coronavirus on the premises,\u00a0for example measures which limit close face-to-face interaction, such as supporting working from home, making adjustments to the premises and putting in place protective measures such as signage, screens and other mitigations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please don\u2019t hesitate to contact <a href=\"mailto:burialandcremation@gov.scot\">burialandcremation@gov.scot<\/a> with any questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 20 January 2022, the First Minister announced the relaxation of a number of covid protective measures from the 24th January 2022. \u00a0The Scottish Government guidance for\u00a0Safer Businesses and Workplaces, Face coverings and Staying Safe guidance \u00a0have now been updated to reflect these changes.
