{"id":649,"date":"2022-02-24T09:32:06","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T09:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/?p=649"},"modified":"2022-02-24T09:32:06","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T09:32:06","slug":"covid-19-changes-to-restrictions-and-updated-strategic-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/2022\/02\/24\/covid-19-changes-to-restrictions-and-updated-strategic-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: Changes to Restrictions and Updated Strategic Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 22 February 2022, the First Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-update-first-ministers-speech-tuesday-22-february-2022\/\">announced<\/a> a number of important changes to coronavirus-related restrictions to take place from Monday 28 February, and indicative dates for future easing.<\/p>\n<p>From 28 February:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The legal requirement for some business to use the COVID-19 certification scheme will be removed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indicative date of 21 March:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>assuming no significant adverse developments in the course of the virus, the legal requirement to wear face coverings in certain indoor settings and on public transport will be converted to guidance. However, the continued wearing of face coverings in shops, indoor public places, and on public transport will continue to be strongly recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Businesses, places of worship, and service providers will no longer be required by law to have regard to Scottish Government\u2019s guidance on COVID and take practical measures set out in guidance<\/li>\n<li>Businesses and service providers will no longer be legally required to collect contact details for test and protect purposes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Update to Scotland\u2019s Strategic Framework<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the First Minister announced an update\u00a0to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-scotlands-strategic-framework-update-february-2022\/\">Strategic Framework<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This important document charts Scotland\u2019s route through the pandemic to manage COVID-19 effectively, primarily through adaptations and health measures that strengthen our resilience and recovery, as we rebuild for a better future and sets out a clear framework for any decisions we may have to take in future in response to new developments.<\/p>\n<p><u>Self-isolation<\/u><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-test-and-protect\/pages\/summary\/\">Self-isolation<\/a> is still recommended for anyone who tests positive for Coronavirus, and support payments will still be made to those who are eligible.<\/p>\n<p><u>Vaccination<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The vaccination scheme will be continue to be extended in line with expert advice.<\/p>\n<p>From mid-March all five to 11 year olds will be able to receive the vaccine. Further, it is now the intention to offer care home residents, those over 75, and everyone over 12 years old who is immunosuppressed, an additional booster six months after their last vaccination.\u00a0 This phase of the programme will also start in March, though the scheduling of appointments for individuals will depend on the timing of their initial booster or third dose.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 22 February 2022, the First Minister announced a number of important changes to coronavirus-related restrictions to take place from Monday 28 February, and indicative dates for future easing.
