{"id":654,"date":"2022-03-30T16:33:49","date_gmt":"2022-03-30T15:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/?p=654"},"modified":"2022-03-30T16:33:49","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T15:33:49","slug":"covid-19-face-coverings-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/2022\/03\/30\/covid-19-face-coverings-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid-19: Face Coverings Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In her statement today (30 March 2022), the First Minister announced that the requirement in regulations for face coverings to be worn at funeral services or commemorative events related to a funeral (such as memorial services) in indoor public places, will be replaced with guidance from 4 April.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Face coverings remain an important part of stopping the spread of coronavirus.\u00a0 Although the legal requirement to wear face coverings at funeral services and commemorative events will be removed from 4 April, the Scottish Government encourages the use of protective measures to reduce risk, including wearing face coverings, to help keep each other safe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The change in the requirement to wear face coverings in indoor public places relates to places of worship, funeral services, commemorative events, marriage ceremonies and civil partnership registrations.\u00a0\u00a0 There are no regulatory changes on 4 April in relation to wakes or wedding receptions in hospitality venues although, of course, existing exceptions from wearing a face covering (eg when eating and drinking) will continue to apply.\u00a0\u00a0 The First Minister also announced today that subject to the state of the pandemic the wider regulatory requirements in relation to face coverings will be converted to guidance on 18\u00a0April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In her statement today (30 March 2022), the First Minister announced that the requirement in regulations for face coverings to be worn at funeral services or commemorative events related to a funeral (such as memorial services) in indoor public places, will be replaced with guidance from 4 April. &nbsp;
