{"id":833,"date":"2026-02-04T13:21:36","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T13:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/?p=833"},"modified":"2026-02-04T13:32:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T13:32:34","slug":"updates-to-burial-and-cremation-application-forms-and-registers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/funeral-industry\/2026\/02\/04\/updates-to-burial-and-cremation-application-forms-and-registers\/","title":{"rendered":"Updates to Burial and Cremation Application Forms and Registers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish Government introduces Regulations, making changes to burial and cremation application forms and registers, under the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act 2016 (\u201cthe 2016 Act\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Burial and Cremation (Applications and Registers) (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2025 will come into force on <strong>2 March 2026<\/strong>. The Regulations amend the Cremation (Scotland) Regulations 2019 and the Burial (Applications and Register) (Scotland) Regulations 2024.
