We should all be trying to reduce social interaction between people in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This remains important for the Critical National Infrastructure sector and those identified as Key Workers. Please familiarise yourself with this guidance if you run or work in a funeral industry business: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-business-and-social-distancing-guidance\/\">https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-business-and-social-distancing-guidance\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The status of funeral directors as key workers is a decision for each local authority in Scotland.\u00a0 We are advised that those wishing to be classed as a key worker should review the national guidance which suggests every business should home-school their children as the first preference: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/news\/supporting-coronavirus-key-workers\/\">https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/news\/supporting-coronavirus-key-workers\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If home-schooling is not an option, then funeral directors should contact their local authority education department using the contact details on local authority websites.<\/p>\n<p>There is also some information on childcare on our Scottish Government website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus---school-and-elc-closures-guidance-on-critical-childcare-provision-for-key-workers\/\">https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus&#8212;school-and-elc-closures-guidance-on-critical-childcare-provision-for-key-workers\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update (31 March): Social distancing measures are for everyone, including businesses.
