She added:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am pleased to launch the new S<a href=\"http:\/\/learningzone.workforcesolutions.sssc.uk.com\">trategic Commissioning e-learning product<\/a> produced by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jitscotland.org.uk\/\">Joint Improvement Team<\/a> (JIT) in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sssc.uk.com\/\">Scottish Social Services Council<\/a> (SSSC) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nes.scot.nhs.uk\/\">NHS Education for Scotland<\/a> (NES). It is designed for professionals who work within the NHS, Local Authorities, Independent or Third Sector and want to learn more about Strategic Commissioning.<\/p>\n<p>It is a valuable and comprehensive resource which will support practitioners and managers to understand the strategic commissioning cycle and review the stages of developing the strategic plan within the policy context.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Douglas Hutchens, Scottish Government Non-Executive Director thanked the speakers and praised the participants for such a positive and engaging event, which outlined the challenges ahead and the opportunities for the people we all serve through successful integration. \u00a0He said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSix months on it is clear that we now have the tools and the permissions to work together, but it is clear that the prize of effective integration will only be through greater engagement \u2013 the type of collaborative engagement shown by speakers and participants at the event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Staff working in health, social care, the independent and third sectors can now access the Strategic Commissioning e-learning \u00a0educational resource to help them learn about the role of strategic commissioning and its importance in the context of health and social care integration in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The comprehensive <a href=\"http:\/\/learningzone.workforcesolutions.sssc.uk.com\">e-learning resource<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>positions strategic commissioning within the national policy context<\/li>\n<li>defines what strategic commissioning is<\/li>\n<li>explains the importance of the process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is made up of seven modules and hosted on SSSC\u2019s Learning Zone at:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/learningzone.workforcesolutions.sssc.uk.com\/course\/view.php?id=57\">http:\/\/learningzone.workforcesolutions.sssc.uk.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:katie.mcwilliam@scotland.gsi.gov.uk\">katie.mcwilliam@scotland.gsi.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:barrie.wilson@sssc.com\">barrie.wilson@sssc.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:cheryl.harvey@nes.scot.nhs.uk\">cheryl.harvey@nes.scot.nhs.uk<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the Scottish Planning Network (SPN) event earlier this month, a mix of health and social care professionals took time out to explore the strategic opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of health and social care.
