{"id":851,"date":"2015-03-20T14:45:20","date_gmt":"2015-03-20T14:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.scotland.gov.uk\/health-and-social-care-integration\/?p=851"},"modified":"2022-01-26T15:31:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-26T15:31:14","slug":"851","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/2015\/03\/20\/851\/","title":{"rendered":"Co-production &#8211; how we make a difference together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Integration is nearly upon us and the challenge of delivering Scotland\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Topics\/Health\/Policy\/Adult-Health-SocialCare-Integration\/Outcomes\">National Health and Wellbeing Outcomes<\/a> will fall to all of us, in every sector at all levels,\u00a0all health and social care professions and most importantly:\u00a0people and communities.<\/p>\n<p>The principles of co-production are evident throughout the legislation and guidance for integration. For integration to be successful in delivering better outcomes, the talents, capacities and potential of all of Scotland\u2019s people and communities must be used in designing, commissioning, delivering and assessing our future health and social care services.<\/p>\n<p>Making this shift to co-produced health and social care services is not going to happen overnight. There are a great examples of co-produced services across Scotland, particularly through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Topics\/Health\/Support-Social-Care\/Support\/Older-People\/ReshapingCare\">Reshaping Care for Older People<\/a>, but more needs to be done to build the cultures and systems which will enable co-production approaches to become the \u2018norm\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>To help meet this challenge, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jitscotland.org.uk\/\">Joint Improvement Team<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coproductionscotland.org.uk\/\">Scottish Co-production Network<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alliance-scotland.org.uk\/\">Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland<\/a> \u2013 working with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.govint.org\/our-services\/co-production\/\">Governance International<\/a> \u2013\u00a0have launched a new resource: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coproductionscotland.org.uk\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Co-production \u2013 how we make a difference together<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-856 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/integrating-reshaping-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/03\/Scottish-Coproduction-network-conference.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"688\" height=\"194\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/03\/Scottish-Coproduction-network-conference.png 955w, https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/03\/Scottish-Coproduction-network-conference-300x85.png 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 688px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 688\/194;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The resource and associated\u00a0suite of materials \u2013 videos, case studies and other information \u2013 is intended to help spread understanding and practice\u00a0around co-production. It gives examples of the different ways in which co-production approaches can be used, but more than this, it draws together the principles of co-production and the practicalities of working in this way.<\/p>\n<p>The range of materials includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An interview with the Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government<\/li>\n<li>A policy overview of Co-production in Scotland<\/li>\n<li>Six case studies and five Digital Stories<\/li>\n<li>Introductions to the People Powered Health and Wellbeing programme and the \u2018Co-production Star\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The resource will be available on the Scottish Co-production Network website &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coproductionscotland.org.uk\/\">www.coproductionscotland.org.uk<\/a> from early April.
