{"id":998,"date":"2015-05-20T15:56:55","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T15:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.scotland.gov.uk\/health-and-social-care-integration\/?p=998"},"modified":"2015-05-20T15:56:55","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T15:56:55","slug":"chief-officers-spotlight-julie-murray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/2015\/05\/20\/chief-officers-spotlight-julie-murray\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief Officers Spotlight: Julie Murray"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\" style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">&#8211; <\/span><\/div>\n<p>There has been an integrated Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) in East Renfrewshire since 2006, so we are fortunate to have quite a mature partnership with high degrees of trust and strong relationships, both across our parent organisations and with our partners in the third and independent sectors.<\/p>\n<p>We have an integrated management structure and have in the last couple of years reorganised our services for older people and people with long term conditions around groups of GP practices. This has really improved our relationships with GPs and our ability to work together and we think it is a good base on which to build our approach to localities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/integrating-reshaping-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/05\/Julie-Murray-profile.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-999 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/integrating-reshaping-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/05\/Julie-Murray-profile.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"482\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/05\/Julie-Murray-profile.png 392w, https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/health-social-care\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/05\/Julie-Murray-profile-244x300.png 244w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 392px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 392\/482;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have integrated strategic and business support in place and are in the middle of a redesign of children\u2019s services which will result in a much more integrated structure. So the transition to become a Health and Social Care Partnership will not be a dramatic one in East Renfrewshire, although we have made important changes to our governance and finance arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Co-location has been really helpful in building relationships between different staff groups and GPs in Barrhead, where we opened <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhsggc.org.uk\/locations\/health-centresclinics\/barrhead-health-and-care-centre\/\">a jointly owned Health and Care facility<\/a> in 2012 and we look forward to a new Health and Care Centre <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhsggc.org.uk\/about-us\/media-centre\/news\/2015\/2\/health-secretary-cuts-first-sod-for-new-health-and-care-centre\/\">opening in Clarkston next year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our focus going forward is to strengthen our practice so that it is truly person centred and focussed on outcomes, and to further develop our partnership with the third sector and with communities.<\/p>\n<p>We recently spent some time with our staff and frontline managers developing our purpose statement \u201cWorking together with the people of East Renfrewshire to improve lives by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>valuing what matters to people<\/li>\n<li>building capacity with people and\u00a0communities, and<\/li>\n<li>focussing on outcomes, not services.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think if we can use this to shape our priorities and practice whilst strengthening our shared approach to clinical and care governance, we shouldn\u2019t go too far wrong!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8211; There has been an integrated Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) in East Renfrewshire since 2006, so we are fortunate to have quite a mature partnership with high degrees of trust and strong relationships, both across our parent organisations and with our partners in the third and independent sectors.
