Electronic Monitoring in Scotland – A consultation on proposals for legislation

March 2, 2017 by No Comments | Category Justice, Uncategorized

The Scottish Government has launched a consultation on proposals for legislation to expand the use of electronic monitoring in Scotland. The legislative changes will support the delivery of community justice.

The consultation paper sets out the legislative changes which we propose to enable new uses for electronic monitoring and also introduce new technologies.

In addition to legislation, this year we will also be raising awareness, encouraging use and developing new approaches to electronic monitoring. This will involve a range of people and organisations working in partnership, including people who have been victims of crime and people with a history of offending.

For further information or to participate in the consultation, which closes on 19 May, please go to; https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/community-justice/electronic-monitoring-in-Scotland
