{"id":13050,"date":"2021-11-04T16:06:27","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T16:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/marine-scotland\/?p=13050"},"modified":"2021-11-09T14:23:36","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T14:23:36","slug":"outcome-of-coastal-states-consultation-on-mackerel-blue-whiting-and-atlanto-scandian-herring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/marine-scotland\/2021\/11\/04\/outcome-of-coastal-states-consultation-on-mackerel-blue-whiting-and-atlanto-scandian-herring\/","title":{"rendered":"Outcome of Coastal states consultation on mackerel, blue whiting and Atlanto-Scandian herring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coastal States consultations have now concluded with agreement on 2022 catch limits for shared pelagic stocks.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/management-of-shared-fish-stocks-agreed-records-2022\/\">agreed records<\/a>\u00a0which were signed on 26 and 27 October 2021 set out Total Allowable Catches (TACs) and management measures for mackerel, blue whiting and Atlanto-Scandian herring, three stocks of key importance to the Scottish fishing fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Together, the Coastal State pelagic stocks are estimated to be worth ~ \u00a3186 million to Scotland in 2022. Given the importance of these stocks, it is imperative that everything is done to ensure appropriate management.
