Nesting in the DLP Box at Scrabster<\/p><\/div>\n

The Designated Landing Port (DLP) Box in Scrabster harbour has become a new home for a family of birds.<\/p>\n

DLP Boxes\u00a0are\u00a0traditionally used\u00a0by fishing vessels who leave\u00a0their\u00a0logbooks inside, with details of their onboard catch.\u00a0With\u00a0the advent of electronic logbooks for majority of vessels, however, their use has declined, which is where these birds saw an opportunity!<\/p>\n

So as not to disturb the birds,\u00a0the current Box has been marked as “closed” with new box,\u00a0borrowed from Wick, being\u00a0fixed in place below original box by the harbour board.<\/p>\n
