{"id":2781,"date":"2015-02-17T16:37:26","date_gmt":"2015-02-17T16:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.scotland.gov.uk\/coastal-monitoring\/?p=2781"},"modified":"2018-04-13T10:04:21","modified_gmt":"2018-04-13T09:04:21","slug":"national-marine-plan-interactive-nmpi-reaches-500-layers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/marine-scotland\/2015\/02\/17\/national-marine-plan-interactive-nmpi-reaches-500-layers\/","title":{"rendered":"National Marine Plan interactive (NMPi) reaches 500 layers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The number of data layers in\u00a0our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotland.gov.uk\/Topics\/marine\/seamanagement\/nmpihome\/nmpi\">National Marine Plan interactive<\/a>\u00a0(NMPi) continues to grow and is now in excess of 500, representing a huge data resource for use by everyone.<\/p>\n<p>New data layers continue to be added and amongst the recent layers are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scotland\u2019s\u00a0Marine Atlas (2011) Overall Assessment (as 4 layers)<\/li>\n<li>A new section\u00a0called \u2018National Marine Plan \u2013 2015\u2019 has been added which displays all the\u00a0maps in the national marine plan that was lodged in the Scottish Parliament in December 2014.\u00a0The previous section, \u2018Draft National Marine Plan \u2013 2013\u2019 remains so that an archive of the developing National Marine\u00a0Plan can be accessed.<\/li>\n<li>Proposals for remaining Nature Conservation MPAs (December 2014)<\/li>\n<li>New section on\u00a0Climate Change \u2018Carbon budgets and potential blue carbon stores\u2019 with 3 layers<\/li>\n<li>Human Population\u00a0with 3 layers based on data from NRS and the 2011 Census<\/li>\n<li>Various seabed\u00a0geology layers<\/li>\n<li>Digital Aerial\u00a0Photography of Scotland from 2008-2013<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marine Scotland continues to work with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sepa.org.uk\/\">SEPA<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snh.gov.uk\/\">SNH<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/jncc.defra.gov.uk\/\">JNCC<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masts.ac.uk\/\">MASTS<\/a> to develop layers that will be relevant and valuable for marine planning.
