Children are fascinated by seeing fish and shellfish up close and love being able to touch them. The teachers often join in too, and it\u2019s great to be able to share that experience with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other workshops\u00a0concentrates on health and wellbeing and the importance of eating seafood high in Omega 3 and these feature a tutored \u2018Come Dine with Me\u2019 tasting session, using local produce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Seafood in Schools<\/strong> is a project that aims to teach children about Scottish seafood; where it comes from, how it reaches our plates, and why eating seafood is good for us. It is funded by Scottish Government, Aberdeenshire Council, Seafish, Scottish Salmon Producers\u2019 Organisation, the Scottish Fishermen\u2019s Trust and the Scottish Whitefish Producers\u2019 Association, and also relies on in-kind contributions and involvement by the fishing and aquaculture industries:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fishisthedish.co.uk\/education\/seafood-education-case-studies\/seafood-in-schools\">www.seafoodinschools.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Topics\/marine\/education\">Marine Scotland Education Zone<\/a> with\u00a0fishy facts, information about careers in Marine Scotland and much more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Colleages in Marine Scotland are continuing to support the Seafood in Schools initiative by being involved in workshops around the country,\u00a0telling children more about the work that we do and answering their questions on all things fishy.
