Duration:<\/strong> 18-25 April 2015<\/p>\n

Gear: <\/strong>Surface and subsurface PAM moorings<\/p>\n

Objectives:
\n<\/strong>To deploy a series of moorings comprising either dhan buoys (maximum of ten surface) or acoustic release systems (minimum of 20 subsurface) and recording devices (30 CPOD and ten SM2M) as part of the east coast marine mammal monitoring programme (see Table 1 and Figure 1).<\/p>\n

Procedure:
\n<\/strong>Loading of all equipment will be carried out on 17 April then Alba na Mara<\/em> will sail from Fraserburgh on the morning of 18 April and make for the first mooring position. \u00a0The ultimate order in which the moorings are deployed will be dictated by the current weather forecast and the likely shelter that can be provided by the east coast. \u00a0Accurate position records will be kept detailing where the moorings are eventually placed as this may differ from the planned position. Once all the moorings have been deployed Alba na Mara<\/em> will return to Fraserburgh by 25 April to unload any remaining gear and disembark the scientific crew.<\/p>\n
