{"id":5026,"date":"2016-08-09T09:31:31","date_gmt":"2016-08-09T08:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/marine-scotland\/?p=5026"},"modified":"2019-04-04T11:34:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T10:34:00","slug":"funding-available-for-offshore-renewable-environmental-research-and-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/marine-scotland\/2016\/08\/09\/funding-available-for-offshore-renewable-environmental-research-and-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding available for offshore renewable environmental research and monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of a \u20ac40 million grant awarded by the EU to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Topics\/marine\/Licensing\/marine\/scoping\/EOWDC\">European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(EOWDC), also known as Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm Limited (AOWFL) under the European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR),\u00a0around \u20ac3 million\u00a0has been committed\u00a0for the sole purpose of environmental research and monitoring.\u00a0A number of organisations, including Marine Scotland Science, will have an active\u00a0role in steering the allocation of that funding, through EOWDC\u2019s Scientific Research &amp; Monitoring Panel (the Panel),\u00a0to those areas most in need of further research, based on their\u00a0collective expertise and knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call for Proposals for Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Panel have defined the environmental topic areas of most interest and AOWFL are interested in hearing from applicants who have proposals for environmental research and development projects to be funded as part of the Scientific Research and Monitoring Programme. The application process, which will be in two stages, is now open to Expressions of Interest (EoI\u2019s) and all interested parties should complete the online EoI form. Further information for applicants is also provided under &#8216;documents for reading\/completion&#8217; on this webpage and should be read carefully prior to completing the EoI. Health and Safety Prequalification Questionnaires must be submitted by email to <a href=\"mailto:eowdc.proposals@vattenfall.com\">eowdc.proposals@vattenfall.com<\/a> by the closing date. All required information must be supplied for a valid application.<\/p>\n<p>The closing date for EoI\u2019s is midnight <strong>2nd September 2016 <\/strong>and\u00a0successful parties will be notified and requested to provide a detailed proposal following close of the EoI round.
