MarCRF was well represented at the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) Annual Science Conference 2016, this week in Riga, Latvia.<\/p>\n

Research Fellow Jacqui Tweddle<\/a> (pictured right) presented in the \u201cWhat is a good pelagic habitat?\u201d session, talking about \u201cPhytoplankton: supporting a good pelagic habitat\u201d, which was well received and started a lot of discussion.<\/p>\n

Current MarCRF PhD student and Marine Scotland scientist,\u00a0Andronikos Kafas,<\/a> presented his own work on fisheries displacement due to offshore windfarms, and that of his recent MSc student Stanley Mastrantonis (King scallop distribution models in the session \u201cIntegration challenges in maritime spatial planning \u2013 approaches, science gaps, and communication demands).<\/p>\n

Fellow Marine Scotland scientist and recently graduated MSc student, M\u00e4ylis Billet, also presented in this session on her work on improving representation of fishing vessel tracks for use in marine spatial planningas<\/a> did\u00a0previous MarCRF MRes studentship holder Adam Delargy<\/a>.<\/p>\n
