Some of you may be asking, how is it that time of year again? The clocks have changed, the nights are drawing in and there is a definite chill in the air.

For many people, Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night are the current topics of conversation, but not for us in the International team, we are looking forward to another day in November, one for us Scots the world over to celebrate.

That’s right I’m talking about St Andrew’s Day, the 30th of November, the day we should be celebrating all that’s great about our amazing and beautiful country.

St Andrew’s Day has grown in stature over the years. From the introduction of the holiday in the early 1300’s to the amazing calendar of events held last year, it has become an important date which people really want to get together to celebrate.

And this year we’re working hard to make the 30 November the best ever. We want people to use St Andrew’s Day as a way of spending quality time with their friends and family, making memories and having fun.

We have put together 560 free, two-for-one or child goes free activities and offers across 400 Scottish venues and attractions.

We are also  funding 11 events in the lead up and on St Andrew’s Day including the new Virgin Money Street of Light in Edinburgh which is set to be one of the most spectacular events ever in the history of St Andrew’s Day celebrations.

So whether you fancy taking advantage of the great outdoors, visiting a famous landmark or simply spending a cosy night in with your loved ones with some tasty Scottish cuisine, get involved this year and tell us how you are celebrating #mystandrewsday.
