It’s always important to reflect on your work, to step back and see what the successes and failures might have been. Thanks to our external independant facilitators, we are pleased to launch a short report evaluating the co-creation process of our action plan, produced with thanks, by SCDC<\/a> (the Scottish Community Development Centre).<\/p>\n

In developing the action plan on open government 2018-20, launched in Jan 2019, we worked with COSLA and the Open Government Network to involve members of the public, groups and organisations and people across the public sector. Last summer, we held public discussion events and invited people to submit ideas online, to crowdsource ideas for our Action Plan. We’ve written about the whole process and shared our findings<\/a>, so it’s well documented on this blog. But we wanted to evaluate this too – how well did this work? What could we improve for next time?<\/p>\n

Thanks to SCDC<\/a> who facilitated the public discussion events across Scotland last summer and who have kindly written this report. They gathered feedback and held a focus group session with people who attended events, steering group members and others.<\/p>\n

Thanks to everyone for their feedback, it helps us all better understand what people thought of being involved – a little or a lot (or not at all) in creating the open government action plan.<\/p>\n
