Accompanying the consultation paper, we published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transformingplanning.scot\/media\/2236\/draft-how-to-guide-pdf-format.pdf\">draft \u2018How to\u2019 Guide<\/a> and asked people to send us comments. You can find out more at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transformingplanning.scot\">www.transformingplanning.scot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The consultation period runs till 25 June 2021. Here we explain our engagement strategy for the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the engagement strategy is to support those people, groups and organisations which may have an interest in the outcome of the consultation and support them in responding to the consultation, or in submitting views on the draft \u2018How to\u2019 Guide.<\/p>\n<p>We recognise that currently there is limited scope for face-to-face meetings due to the on-going impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will therefore be primarily engaging through online means.<\/p>\n<p>We are therefore proposing to undertake the following engagement activities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity:<\/strong> Use of social media<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> On-going<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong> We will advertise opportunities for engagement opportunities through Twitter (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ScotGovPlanning\">@ScotGovPlanning<\/a>) and Planning and Architecture Division\u2019s email updates \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/scot.us20.list-manage.com\/subscribe?u=feffb8d81365d935d19ae1c3d&amp;id=77e7ab1103\">register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity:<\/strong> Engaging with stakeholders<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> During the consultation period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong> An Easy Read has already been developed and is available to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transformingplanning.scot\/media\/2232\/lpp-consultation-self-read-guide-march-2021.pdf\">read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Engaging with community councils<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>During the consultation period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>In addition to an invitation to the meetings below, we will investigate other opportunities to engage with <strong>community councils<\/strong> to encourage their responses to the consultation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Engaging with community groups<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>Meetings scheduled for: Wednesday 9 June 2021 6pm &amp; Friday 11 June 2021 2pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>Two 1 hour long community focussed events on Microsoft Teams to encourage responses from <strong>community groups. <\/strong>Contact <a href=\"mailto:LPPRegs@gov.scot\">LPPRegs@gov.scot<\/a> to book a place. Please advise which event you would wish to attend.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Engaging other community groups<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>During the consultation period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>We will contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/third-sector-interfaces-contact-details\/\">TSIs<\/a> across Scotland, inviting them to forward the easy read to their community networks.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Engaging with community planning partnerships<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>During the consultation period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>We will contact <strong>community planning partners<\/strong> directly to encourage them and their partner organisations to respond to the consultation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity:<\/strong> Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) reference group<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>Meeting: 9 June 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>Working with SCDC, we will reconvene the reference group which supported the development of the \u2018How to\u2019 Guide to encourage their responses to the consultation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Development Trust Association Scotland (DTAS) and its members<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>Meeting: 10 June 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>Working with DTAS, we will meet with \u00a0<strong>development trusts<\/strong> to encourage responses to the consultation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>SURF and its members<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>Meeting: 10 June 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>Working with SURF, we will meet with <strong>SURF members <\/strong>to encourage responses to the consultation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Engaging with planning authorities<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>During the consultation period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>We will work with <a href=\"https:\/\/hopscotland.org.uk\/\">HOPS<\/a> to support <strong>planning authorities<\/strong> to respond to the consultation. Including work on options for a Validation Framework and a central registration and mapping system.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Activity: <\/strong>Analysis of responses<\/p>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>On-going<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>We are currently tendering for a contractor to independently analyse the responses to the LPP consultation.
