The Scottish Government has issued a direction (text below) revoking The Town and Country Planning (Safeguarding of Land at Annandale) (Scotland) Direction 2022 (the 2022 Direction). The 2022 Direction ensured a proposal for a train stabling depot on a site in Annandale would be taken into account in the consideration of planning applications for development in the area that might affect its viability. The depot proposal was part of High Speed Rail (Crewe \u2013 Manchester) Phase 2b. With the curtailment of that scheme, safeguarding of the land at Annandale is no longer required and so the 2022 Direction is redundant and can be revoked.<\/p>\n

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SAFEGUARDING OF LAND AT ANNANDALE) (SCOTLAND) REVOCATION DIRECTION 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scottish Ministers give the following Direction in exercise of the powers conferred by regulations 30, 31 and 32 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 and all other powers enabling them to do so-<\/p>\n

Citation and Commencement<\/p>\n

1. This Direction may be cited as The Town and Country Planning (Safeguarding of
\nLand at Annandale) (Scotland) Revocation Direction 2026 and comes into effect on 25 March 2026.<\/p>\n

Revocation<\/p>\n

2. The Town and Country Planning (Safeguarding of Land at Annandale) (Scotland) Direction 2022 is revoked.<\/p>\n

EXPLANATORY NOTE<\/p>\n

This Direction revokes the Town and Country Planning (Safeguarding of Land at Annandale) (Scotland) Direction 2022 (\u201cthe 2022 Direction\u201d). The 2022 Direction relates to safeguarding measures in respect of development proposals for land at Annandale relating to the High-Speed Rail (Crewe \u2013 Manchester) Phase 2b. Those development proposals are no longer required, and the 2022 Direction is accordingly no longer needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
