In July we published practical Best Practice guidance and toolkit to help public bodies and suppliers think about how to address Fair Work practices in public contracts.
The Best Practice Guidance addresses key common issues, including handling bidders from other countries and approaches to contract monitoring.
The toolkit includes:
• Information sheets including one-pagers on ‘What is Fair Work’ and ‘What is the real Living Wage’, which can be shared with suppliers or with procurement teams to raise awareness
• Practical tools to help you to think about how best to address Fair Work practices on a contract by contract bases
• Completed checklists and examples of an ITT criterion, supplier responses and checklist for evaluators
The Sustainable procurement duty tools (Sustainability Test and Prioritisation Tool) have also been updated to include revised Fair Work indicators which are contained in the Fair Work – Commodity Strategy Checklist.
Your feedback on the new guidance and toolkit is welcome, please send any comments to the Scottish Procurement mailbox.
