Commercial Week 2025

This year, Commercial Week will be held from Monday 19 to Friday 23 May 2025.

Commercial Week is an opportunity to build greater awareness of commercial programmes, activities and the key skills required within the Public Sector across Scotland, to deliver better outcomes and play a pivotal role in ensuring Scotland will be a wealthier, fairer, greener and a more equal country. Last year’s event saw 60 public sector organisations engage in sessions during the week, with over 1300 bookings – up 60% from 2023.

Here are some resources to help you improve your commercial capability:

• if you require training tailored to your organisation or sector, the Scottish Government Procurement Training Framework is available.
• Scotland Excel Academy courses are available through the Scottish Government Procurement Training Framework (Lot 1)
• the Sustainable Procurement Tools website features case studies and guidance on good commercial approaches, that also deliver sustainable outcomes, as well as e-Learning developed through Scottish Government Procurement Training Framework (Lot 2)
• e-Learning on the Introduction to Public Procurement and Tender Evaluators is available via the Scotland Excel Academy
• Public Procurement Policy Training for Scotland videos, focused on “how to” robustly implement Scottish Procurement Policy Notes and Scottish Government procurement policy, are available on the Professional Practice and Development Knowledge Hub

We will also be running a series of events during Commercial Week, which are open to those in the Public Sector, which will be promoted in an upcoming blog post.
