Strengthening public procurement to drive reform across Scotland

October 1, 2025 by No Comments | Category Procurement news, Scottish Procurement

As part of our shared ambition to redefine the role of the Public Procurement Group, we’ve initiated a strategic reset. This marks a shift from advisory functions to a delivery-focused model – one that drives meaningful action, collaboration, and impact.

To support this transformation:

  • we’ve restructured the group’s membership to bring in greater diversity, stronger local perspectives, and fresh energy aligned with our new mandate
  • we’re pleased to welcome a new Non-Executive Director who will provide independent challenge and act as a critical friend – strengthening governance and encouraging innovation

Yesterday, we held the first meeting of the reset group at St Andrews House, Edinburgh, with the Minister for Public Finance in attendance. With direct reporting now in place, the group’s strategic role and accountability are clearer than ever.

You can view the group’s updated membership in the attached PDF.

In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce members individually so you can get to know the expertise and perspectives driving this important work.

This reset marks a new chapter – where procurement leads reform and delivers real value for communities across Scotland.

We’re excited to collaborate and deliver bold, impactful outcomes.
