Procurement People of Tomorrow (PPoT) programme
Led by Scottish Government, the PPoT programme addresses the skills gap in procurement and the challenges in attracting, recruiting and retaining talent.
This Scotland-wide partnership programme, involving both the public and private sector, aims to build a sustainable pipeline of procurement and commercial talent. Our vision is to leave a lasting legacy for the procurement profession in Scotland by growing our own talent to address industry-wide skills shortages.
There are a number of ways you can begin your procurement journey. Whether you want to study or learn on the job there are many routes available. We’ve developed a variety of packs to provide procurement career information to people at different points in their lives.
Schools pack
The schools pack is for students in their penultimate years of school who are interested in the procurement profession and the opportunities it provides.
Higher and Further Education
We have also developed and published a higher and further education pack which is a useful introductory tool for graduates with an interest in entering the procurement profession. It provides an insight into the procurement profession, career possibilities and how they can get involved.
Placement Pack
Finally, to support interns we have a PPoT placement pack that provides a consistent and valuable five-day plan for students to follow when undertaking a one-week procurement placement.
