Whether you’re new to public sector procurement or already supplying to the public sector, it can be tricky to know where to find contract opportunities and business support – that’s where Meet the Buyer North 2026 comes in.

Hosted by the Supplier Development Programme and supported by the Scottish Government and Scotland Excel, Meet the Buyer North is the largest free procurement event of its kind in the North of Scotland.

Taking place on Thursday 3 September 2026 at The Music Hall in Aberdeen, this free event brings together public sector buyers, major contractors, and business support organisations.

Discover new opportunities

Whether you’re looking to win public sector contracts or become part of a major contractor’s supply chain, Meet the Buyer North gives you the chance to hear about upcoming opportunities and speak directly with buyers from local authorities, government agencies, NHS bodies and private sector contractors.

Meet buyers face-to-face

Unlike many business events, Meet the Buyer North is designed to connect suppliers with actual buyers and decision makers. Procurement teams host exhibition stands while suppliers move around the venue, introducing their business to key buyers and exploring future opportunities.

Learn how to bid better

Alongside the exhibition, attendees will have access to presentations and expert procurement advice from the Supplier Development Programme, Scottish Government, Scotland Excel, and more, helping you strengthen your knowledge and improve future bids.

To get the best from the event, we recommend attendees:

• research the buyers and contractors you’d like to meet
• prepare a short introduction to your business
• bring plenty of business cards
• make notes during or after each conversation
• follow up with your new contacts after the event
• arrive later in the day to avoid queues

SDP’s Meet the Buyer events are designed for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as well as social enterprises, but businesses of all sizes are welcome to attend.
