{"id":1504,"date":"2019-10-04T12:23:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T11:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/?p=1504"},"modified":"2019-10-04T15:05:44","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T14:05:44","slug":"public-procurement-for-scotland-a-new-governance-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/2019\/10\/04\/public-procurement-for-scotland-a-new-governance-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Procurement for Scotland \u2013 a new governance model"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of Tuesday 1 October, there are some changes to the existing Public Procurement for Scotland (PPFS) governance model.<\/p>\n<p>The changes will help to improve and enhance procurement\u2019s delivery of the four new \u2018power of procurement\u2019 outcomes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good for businesses and their employees<\/li>\n<li>Good for places and community<\/li>\n<li>Good for society<\/li>\n<li>Open and connected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These describe what our contracting, policies and services should deliver and support our commitment to engagement and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the changes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The strategic forum model and reporting requirements will come to an end.<\/p>\n<p>The Collaborative Leads Group, Policy Forum and Professional Practice and Development Forum will continue as channels for engagement, consultation and communication. They will no longer have formal reporting responsibilities to the Public Procurement Group (PPG). The Best Practice and e-Commerce Forums will also end.<\/p>\n<p>Previous forum activities and reporting requirements will be replaced by dedicated workstreams with a single focus. Participants from across sectors and organisations will maximise effective delivery. Many workstreams will be short term. All activity will align to the four outcomes and be reported directly to the PPG.<\/p>\n<p>To mitigate any gaps in communications, the PPG will publish a quarterly highlights blog with cross-sector updates. Direct activity\/workstream communications will be issued as required by the relevant workstreams through existing channels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does it affect me?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unless you are an existing strategic forum member \u2013 in which case you will be aware of these changes \u2013 this should not affect your ongoing interests.
