{"id":2457,"date":"2021-03-19T11:13:55","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T11:13:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/?p=2457"},"modified":"2021-03-19T11:13:55","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T11:13:55","slug":"public-procurement-survey-of-suppliers-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/2021\/03\/19\/public-procurement-survey-of-suppliers-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Public procurement survey of suppliers 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/public-procurement-survey-suppliers-2020\/\">the findings of the public procurement survey of suppliers<\/a>, which we carried out in Autumn\/Winter 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The findings indicate that there is much to be positive about in respect of Scottish public sector procurement and the recent work done to improve it. At the same time, however, there are clearly areas in which the Scottish public sector could do more to build on the steps already taken to maximise the impact of public procurement in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The survey findings, alongside the findings from the research on the sustainable procurement duty, will be helpful to us in understanding where good progress is being made as well as opportunities to build on that progress.<\/p>\n<p>Mr McKee, Minister for Trade, Innovation and Public Finance, said: \u2018The survey findings indicate that there is much to be positive about in respect of Scottish public sector procurement and actions undertaken to drive improvement. This is corroborated by evidence published in the latest Ministers\u2019 Activity Report on Procurement. That said, there are clearly areas in which the Scottish public sector could do more. What is already clear is that delivering on our ambition requires a continued emphasis on building the skills and capability of buyers, suppliers and supply chains.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Nick Ford, Director of Scottish Procurement and Property, added: \u2018We are assessing the effectiveness of the steps we have taken to date to identify where we can do more, or, indeed, do things differently to ensure that our aspirations are translated into good practice and performance.
