Colleagues from our Sustainable Procurement Policy Team had the exciting opportunity to attend the London awards ceremony in person on 15 June.<\/p>\n<p>Competition was high being up against 14 other nominees &#8211; the majority from the private sector. Our entry focused on harnessing the power of procurement through our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/policies\/public-sector-procurement\/sustainable-procurement-duty\/\">Sustainable Procurement Duty<\/a>, to address our national and international societal ambitions and drive sustainable procurement. Especially as one of only a few public sector nominees shortlisted for an award.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022\/2023 awards season is kicking off, with entries opening very soon for the <a Transcript:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scottish Government is harnessing the Power of Procurement through our Sustainable Procurement Duty to address our national and international societal ambitions and drive sustainable procurement.<\/p>\n<p>We built on our track record of delivering social impact to develop Sustainable Procurement Tools, guidance, and e-learning relating to climate action and other sustainable procurement goals, with more than 1800 users from over 300 organisations across the globe and many hundreds completing the e-learning.<\/p>\n<p>We have increased the number of public bodies in Scotland who consider the social and climate impact of their procurements delivering real impact.<\/p>\n<p>For example, our non-domestic energy efficiency and ICT frameworks deliver community benefits, the Real Living Wage and energy efficient buildings and devices; with sustainability-related outcomes at the heart of our contract to deliver a national fuel poverty scheme.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to be delivering positive outcomes for people and places in Scotland, supporting Scotland\u2019s green and inclusive recovery and contributing to the global effort to
