The regulation is designed to better protect individuals\u2019 personal information, and has implications for organisations and businesses. After 25 May, organisations will be legally obliged to comply with the regulation, which may mean current data protection processes have to be reviewed &#8211; especially if you process personal information.<\/p>\n<h2>Need some help?<\/h2>\n<p>If you aren\u2019t sure what this means for your business, the Information Commissioner\u2019s Office (ICO) have put together a <a href=\"https:\/\/ico.org.uk\/for-organisations\/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr\/\">helpful guide to GDPR<\/a>, as well as a number of tools to help you prepare. The guide is constantly evolving and quickly allows you to <a href=\"https:\/\/ico.org.uk\/for-organisations\/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr\/whats-new\/\">check out what\u2019s new<\/a>, but it\u2019s also a good idea to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ICOnews\">follow ICO on Twitter<\/a> to ensure you don\u2019t miss any important updates in the coming month. We will also be tweeting useful information in the run-up to GDPR, so <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ScotProcurement\">follow us now<\/a> if you haven\u2019t already.<\/p>\n<h2>GDPR and procurement<\/h2>\n<p>Organisations will have to consider the impact on their procurement processes and new and existing contracts to ensure they are compliant with the new legislation.
