{"id":5051,"date":"2023-06-05T13:48:02","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T12:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/?p=5051"},"modified":"2023-06-05T13:49:02","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T12:49:02","slug":"world-environment-day-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/2023\/06\/05\/world-environment-day-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"World Environment Day 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This World Environment Day, we\u2019re taking a look at the range of community benefits, including environmental, that will be delivered through the course of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/software-value-added-reseller-services-framework-sp-21-034\/\">Software Value Added Reseller Services (SVARS) framework which was recently awarded to Computacenter (UK).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The SVARS framework offers the Scottish public sector a direct route to market for Software and Associated Services.<\/p>\n<p>This framework will deliver several Fair Work Practices, Sustainability deliverables and Community Benefits. These include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.computacenter.com\/en-gb\/sustainability\/planet\">commitment to achieving Net Zero Greenhouse Gas emissions by 2040 (Computacenter UK) and is on track to be carbon neutral for scope 1 and 2 emissions by the end of 2023<\/a><\/li>\n<li>develop a plan to reduce carbon outputs during the delivery of this framework and reporting on Sustainability via an annual report for each year of this framework<\/li>\n<li>promote the use of sustainable\/green software<\/li>\n<li>appoint a Social Value Champion who will report quarterly on sustainability performance<\/li>\n<li>deliver a minimum of 4 additional jobs from long-term unemployed, Modern Apprentices and Graduates<\/li>\n<li>deliver 8 work experience placements from 14+ age groups<\/li>\n<li>80 hours of STEM, learning and digital engagement sessions<\/li>\n<li>40 hours of Digital Accessibility sessions<\/li>\n<li>guarantee that all staff working on this framework will be paid at least the Real Living Wage and no use of zero-hour contracts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Buyers using this framework will support the delivery of these Community Benefits, positively impacting the environment, supporting young people and improving digital skills. The services available on the SVARS framework include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commercial off the shelf software (COTS) i.e. software which is generally available and does not require development<\/li>\n<li>Annual maintenance services for purchased software.\u00a0Annual maintenance will include the rights to &#8220;upgrade&#8221; to the most current version of the software at no cost to the purchaser<\/li>\n<li>Support services either directly or via a third-party provider. Including but not limited to those associated with software support, implementation and configuration.<\/li>\n<li>Asset recording of purchased software<\/li>\n<li>Warranty support<\/li>\n<li>Aggregation of bulk software purchases (bringing together organisations with similar purchases to identify savings)<\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of price competitions between software options to identify further savings<\/li>\n<li>Pre-sales and post-sales advice and support relating to the suitability, application and deployment of software and licenses<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance of software licence records through asset management, software audit and data migration services<\/li>\n<li>Consultancy services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a
