This approach is helping to ensure effective use of limited resource against identified \u2018priority\u2019 areas.<\/p>\n<p>Find out more about NSS\u2019s approach on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/index.cfm\/case-studies-matrix\/\">Case Studies<\/a> section of the Sustainable Procurement Tools website.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a public body and would like to share an example of how your organisation addressed sustainability matters in a procurement exercise, please email\u202f<a href=\"mailto:scottishprocurement@gov.scot\">scottishprocurement@gov.scot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Updated eLearning: <\/strong><strong>Introduction to Sustainable Public Procurement <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019re pleased to announce the launch of our refreshed Introduction to Sustainable Public Procurement eLearning.<\/p>\n<p>This updated version reflects current legislation and policy, the latest best practice, future goals and targets. It also includes new and updated case studies.<\/p>\n<p>The course, delivered through three modules, introduces learners to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>our role in supporting Scotland\u2019s policy and legislative priorities<\/li>\n<li>the outcomes and benefits of a sustainable procurement approach<\/li>\n<li>key principals for embedding sustainability in procurement<\/li>\n<li>the tools, techniques and guidance available in support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The eLearning takes around 90 minutes to complete and is available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/index.cfm\/elearning1\/\">Sustainable Procurement Tools website<\/a>. Please ensure you are registered and logged in to access the course and download your completion certificate.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Updated guidance:<\/strong><strong> Security and Crime, and Worker Conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We have also updated our <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/index.cfm\/guidance\/security-and-crime\/\">Security and crime<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/index.cfm\/guidance\/fairly-and-ethically-traded\/worker-conditions\/\">Worker conditions<\/a> guidance to include a new section on preventing illegal working.<\/p>\n<p>Illegal working can leave individuals vulnerable to abusive and exploitative working conditions. The updated guidance encourages buyers to consider their approach to contracts where right to work (RtW) checks may be a factor.<\/p>\n<p>These guides form part of wider suite of guidance available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/guidance\/\">Sustainable Procurement Tools website<\/a>, supporting public bodies to embed sustainability across their procurement activity.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Online training events and <\/strong><strong>\u2018How To\u2019 Videos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who attended our recent training sessions in late January and early February, focussed on understanding and applying Life Cycle Impact Mapping and the Sustainability Test. We were delighted to welcome participants from more than 30 public sector organisations.<\/p>\n<p>If you weren&#8217;t able to join us, don\u2019t worry \u2013 our \u2018How to\u2019 video guides are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainableprocurementtools.scot\/index.cfm\/user-guides-and-videos\/\">Sustainable Procurement Tools website<\/a>.
