{"id":663,"date":"2018-07-19T11:42:12","date_gmt":"2018-07-19T10:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/?p=663"},"modified":"2018-07-19T11:42:12","modified_gmt":"2018-07-19T10:42:12","slug":"cloud-services-prior-information-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/2018\/07\/19\/cloud-services-prior-information-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"Cloud Services &#8211; Prior Information Notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scottish Procurement has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for a potential collaborative arrangement for <a href=\"https:\/\/ted.europa.eu\/TED\/notice\/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:300608-2018:TEXT:EN:HTML\">Cloud Services<\/a>. Analysis for any new arrangement will look to develop and build upon the current collaborative <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Topics\/Government\/Procurement\/directory\/itms\/webhosting\">Hosting Services framework<\/a> agreement which is due to expire in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of the new collaborative arrangement is still being developed however the broad scope is expected to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public cloud services<\/li>\n<li>Private cloud services<\/li>\n<li>Co-location services<\/li>\n<li>Community cloud services<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid cloud services<\/li>\n<li>Cloud enablement services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) are likely to be considered key requirements of any future cloud services arrangement, it is likely that software as a service (SaaS) would be out of scope, being delivered by alternative arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re currently considering the structure of the framework in terms of scope (as listed above) and potential lots.<\/p>\n<p>The PIN has been issued to provide advance notice to the market and to encourage suppliers to provide their views on any potential opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>For further information please contact <a href=\"mailto:stuart.brown@gov.scot\">Stuart Brown<\/a> &#8211;
