{"id":6680,"date":"2026-07-22T13:36:55","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T12:36:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/?p=6680"},"modified":"2026-07-22T13:36:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T12:36:55","slug":"internet-of-things-iot-dynamic-purchasing-system-dps-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gov.scot\/public-procurement\/2026\/07\/22\/internet-of-things-iot-dynamic-purchasing-system-dps-extension\/","title":{"rendered":"Internet of Things (IoT) \u2013 Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/internet-of-things-iot-technologies-and-services-dynamic-purchasing-system\/\">Internet of Things (IoT) \u2013 Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)<\/a> has been extended until 17 September 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The DPS is an electronic process, suppliers can apply to join the DPS at any time\u00a0and there is no limit on the number of suppliers on the DPS.<\/p>\n<p>Suppliers wishing to join should register with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk\/\">PCS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.publictendersscotland.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk\/esop\/pts-host\/public\/pts\/web\/login.html\">PCS-Tender<\/a>. The OJEU\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk\/search\/show\/search_view.aspx?ID=JUL359513\">contract notice<\/a>\u00a0will remain open throughout the lifetime of the DPS.<\/p>\n<p>Contracts will be awarded via call-offs, issued by Scottish public sector organisations through the DPS, inviting suppliers to tender for in scope services.<\/p>\n<p>This DPS offers the Scottish public sector a route to market for IoT technologies and services. Due to the wide and diverse nature of IoT, it is not possible to list all categories of technologies in scope.<\/p>\n<p>Examples include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Device management <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software enabling manual and automated tasks to create, provision, configure, troubleshoot and manage fleets of IoT devices and gateways remotely, in bulk or individually, and securely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Integration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software, data, tools and technologies which will accomplish IoT related business functions within an organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Data management <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingesting IoT endpoint and edge device data, storing data from edge to enterprise platforms and providing data accessibility, tracking lineage and flow of data and enforcing data and analytics governance policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Processing of data streams to provide insights into asset state by monitoring use, providing indicators, tracking patterns and optimising asset use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subscription and connectivity management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Including subscription lifecycle management, stand-alone (on-demand) connectivity, interoperability and connectivity performance management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application enablement and management <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software that enables business applications in any deployment model to analyse data and accomplish IoT-related business functions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Security <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software, devices, tools and practices facilitated to audit and ensure compliance, as well as to establish and execute preventive, detective and corrective controls and actions to ensure privacy and the security of data across an IoT solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IoT related hardware<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example sensors, gateways, and on-premises infrastructure etc.<\/p>\n<p>The current supplier list can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/internet-of-things-iot-technologies-and-services-dynamic-purchasing-system\/\">website<\/a> and this will be updated periodically.
