Single use<\/b> cups\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Secretary Roseanna Cunningham\u00a0was delighted to help launch Glasgow’s cup depository this week.<\/p>\n

“With up to 500 million single-use cups being used in Scotland every year, we all need to do our bit to make sure they don\u2019t end up littering our streets and our seas.” <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Improvements to animal welfare<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Scottish Government is seeking views on proposals to strengthen enforcement powers for animal welfare offences. <\/span><\/p>\n

Proposed amendments to the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 would increase the maximum penalty for the most serious cruelty offences from 12 months to five years imprisonment, and a potential unlimited fine. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These new tougher penalties could also apply to attacks against service animals, supporting the initiative known as \u2018Finn\u2019s Law\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
