Land Reform Debate<\/h3>\n

CAP payments<\/h3>\n

Payments worth more than a third of a billion pounds have begun, Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing has announced. In the coming months, eligible farmers, crofters and land managers will receive their Common Agricultural Policy Pillar 1 2018 entitlement, with around 78% of eligible claimants having already received up to 90% of their entitlement through a government loan in October.<\/p>\n

Scottish Natural Capital Accounts for Scotland<\/h3>\n

\"\"Environment Secretary Roseanna Cunningham launched the Scottish Natural Capital Accounts, a report that puts a monetary value on the country\u2019s natural assets for the first time.<\/p>\n

In line with our Biodiversity strategy, the Office for National Statistics has produced a set of experimental statistics. In 2015, the partial asset value of Scottish natural capital was estimated to be \u00a3273 billion, 34% of the UK asset valuation.<\/p>\n
