The First Minister opened the National Economic Forum in Dundee this week by stressing the Scottish Government’s commitment to exploring all options to secure a future for the Michelin Plant. Economy Secretary Derek Mackay convened the second meeting of the Michelin Dundee Action Group that afternoon.<\/p>\n

Digital Economy debate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Digital Economy Minister Kate Forbes led a Scottish Parliament debate on the importance of the digital economy. She explained how Scottish Government initiatives such as Digital Boost and the Digital Development Loan are helping SMEs find ways to enhance their digital skills.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Tay Cities Deal signed<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a3200 million has been invested to ensure the Tay region and its economy receive maximum benefits from the deal. Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity <\/span>will be announcing in due course where the Scottish Government will commit its further investment of \u00a350 million.<\/p>\n

Economic Performance debate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Economy Secretary Derek Mackay outlined the actions the Scottish Government has taken to stimulate our economy, including the ways we are outperforming the rest of the UK, during the Scottish Parliament Economic Performance Debate this week.<\/p>\n

Scotland’s space sector is open for business: Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation Ivan McKee welcomed the space industry breakfast event at Scotland House. He outlined the Scottish Government’s ambitions to establish a \u00a34 billion space industry in Scotland by 2020.<\/p>\n
