Findings released by World Wildlife Foundation Scotland <\/span>today<\/a> suggests that small to medium-sized businesses feel less prepared for the risks of climate change compared to larger businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The survey of 300 businesses shows that only 2 in 5 of Scotland\u2019s smaller firms feel prepared for risks posed by climate change, while over three-quarters of larger businesses stated they are either fully or partly prepared.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to the survey, Environment and Climate Change Secretary Roseanna Cunningham said:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Scotland is recognised as a world leader in tackling climate change, and we are determined to ensure that all businesses in the country, large and small, have the necessary guidance and support in place to help prepare for the risks that come with the threat of climate change.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe all have a moral responsibility to do what we can to tackle the effects of this global threat and we are making good progress in identifying and addressing the risks of climate change in Scotland.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Scottish Government\u2019s <\/span>climate change adaptation programme<\/a>, delivered by Adaptation Scotland, supports businesses to increase resilience, prepare for risks and build knowledge, confidence and awareness about adaptation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Climate Ready Business guide<\/a>, published by Adaptation Scotland, provides targeted guidance for small and medium-sized enterprises, including practical examples of how businesses across different sectors are responding to climate risks and harnessing opportunities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Scotland\u2019s second Climate Change Adaptation Programme will be published in 2019 and will support the development of Scotland\u2019s economy to be inclusive, sustainable, flexible, adaptable and responsive to climate change.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
