That is why we have allocated \u00a3570 million since October to helping businesses, and this sum of funding will rise due to the number of new businesses eligible for support under the latest lockdown restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur priority is to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need as quickly as possible.\u00a0In recent weeks we have announced an extra \u00a3185 million of sectoral support, including one-off grants for hospitality businesses,\u00a0an additional \u00a341 million top up support for non-essential retail and gyms\u00a0and a \u00a330 million local authority discretionary fund.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Support for business announced by the Scottish Government in December includes;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a319.2 million to provide one-off grants of \u00a32,000 to hospitality businesses with a rateable value (RV) under \u00a351,000 and \u00a33,000 for those with a RV over \u00a351,000<\/li>\n<li>\u00a350.8 million support focused on businesses with a RV over \u00a351,000 that have not received other assistance.
