On Friday, the Equality Analysis Team launched a consultation<\/a> on proposals to improve and strengthen Scotland\u2019s equality evidence base over the next three years. These proposals will form the basis of Scotland\u2019s new Equality Evidence Strategy.<\/p>\n

The publication of the strategy will mark the conclusion of the first phase of the Scottish Government’s Equality Data Improvement Programme (EDIP)<\/a>. This phase launched in April 2021 and aimed to lay the groundwork in strengthening Scotland’s equality evidence base.<\/p>\n

The strategy will seek to strengthen and expand data already collected and explore new and innovative ways of improving Scotland\u2019s evidence base. This will be a three year programme of implementing the actions set out in the improvement plan.<\/p>\n

We have split the consultation into four sections:
\n\u2022 Section 1: Asks for views on the vision for equality data improvement over the period 2023-25
\n\u2022 Section 2: Asks for views on the proposed improvement actions
\n\u2022 Section 3: Asks when and how equality evidence is used and any barriers faced
\n\u2022 Section 4: Asks who is producing equality evidence and any barriers faced<\/p>\n

The consultation sits within our wider planned approach to engaging with stakeholder organisations throughout the development of the Equality Evidence Strategy 2023-25<\/a>, which is designed to build on recent stakeholder engagement already carried out by the Scottish Government on equality evidence and data.<\/p>\n

We are keen to ensure the strategy is shaped with and by the views and expertise of those who use, produce or are affected by equality data.<\/p>\n

We are inviting responses to this consultation by 23 September 2022. Please respond online using our Citizen Space webpage<\/a> or send your response and accompanying Respondent Information Form<\/a> to equalityevidencestrategy@gov.scot<\/a>.<\/p>\n
