This publication contains information on the numbers of workers, staff sickness rates, and the diversity of staff over the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of September 2017, there were 5,424 FTE directly employed staff, an increase from last year\u2019s figure of 5,150 at the end of September 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The number of contingent (non-directly employed) workers, increased from 900 at the end of September 2016, to 1,027 at the end of September 2017, a 14 per cent increase.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The staff sickness level was 7.3 average working days lost (AWDL) per staff year in the 12 month period ending September 2017 (3.3 per cent of working days were lost).
